Jessica McCormack Opens a New Store at 743 Madison Avenue

Vanguard’s latest retail project, Jessica McCormack at 743 Madison Avenue, celebrated their grand opening yesterday! Vanguard performed extensive pre-construction and construction management services on behalf of famed jewelry retailer, Jessica McCormack, and retail consultant, Innovare, for the townhouse renovation. This will be the London brand’s very first store in the U.S., joining the ranks of other luxury jewelers on the most prestigious shopping street in the world. Working closely with U.K based restoration architects Johnston Cave Associates and Spacesmith as AOR, the Vanguard team painstakingly restored this 19th century townhouse to its former glory.

“We’ve got all the familiar bits from the townhouse, including art, collectables, a library and the jewelry gallery,” said McCormack to the Financial Times earlier this year. She will also be showcasing her new collection that is exclusive to the NYC store called Exceptional Stones.

The new multi-level jewelry store features a Jacobean style staircase, a viewing lounge where patrons can watch their pieces get made, worldly antiques, and gallery showcasing embroidered jewelry displays throughout.  The project team worked closely with the New York Society of Gilders restore and preserve the original features of the Beaux-Arts building’s façade. Additional scope includes a new traditional wood and glass storefront, new MEPS/FA, custom architectural millwork, vitrines, lighting fixtures and controls.
