Michael White’s High-End Midtown Italian Restaurant Opens Next Month

We are thrilled to be a part of Chef Michael White’s triumphant return to the NYC Dining scene! Vanguard is currently renovating Santi, the 8,500 SF restaurant at 520 Madison, formerly the location of Chef White’s restaurant Alto. The contemporary Italian eatery is designed by Michaelis Boyd with MdeAS Architects as AoR, concept by Jessica Schupak, lighting by L’Observatoire International, and kitchen design by Next Step Design

“It’s a natural,” says White of the new restaurant. “It was the right time and right place. This is a culmination of my 35 years as a chef, but it’s not a retrospective. We are creating something that’s inherently Italian, but we want to have fun.’’

Santi features six immersive, interconnected dining areas: an enclosed courtyard with double-height ceilings; a den with walnut and leather banquettes; an upstairs mezzanine overlooking the lower rooms; a private dining room with a 14-seat marble table, and a U-shaped onyx bar.
