8,000SF fit out of a two-story youth center for Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation provides educational meeting spaces, workshops, activity areas, media rooms, a pantry and cafeteria, corridors, restrooms, and refurbished stairwells. Construction also required asbestos remediation before distribution of new MEPS/FA, replacement of exterior windows, and patching of coffered underside of slab before spray-painting, to increase the ceiling height for the suspension of custom sound baffles and light fixtures. Scope also included custom reception desk, counters and cabinetry, carpeting, tiled, and vinyl floors, acoustical ceilings and lighting, coordination with security access control, a new IT/Data room, and coordination with client’s equipment and furniture.
