Less than a year after opening, Grand Brasserie has made its mark on Grand Central terminal. Commuters and tourists alike have flocked to the French-style brasserie for their onion soup, steak frites, and extensive wine and cocktail list. But passersby may not realize how grand Vizz Group’s latest restaurant really is. The 16,000 SF, 400-seat restaurant boasts a second dining room, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Vanderbilt Hall.

“The Green Room, designed by David Rockwell and the Rockwell Group, is a luxurious space perfect for any meal, as well as for private parties. (It can seat 80 people or 100 standing attendees). It features luscious red leather banquettes, vintage photographs on the wall, and a huge circular bar with enormous displays of various liquors nearby.”

In September 2024, Vanguard successfully completed construction on Grand Brasserie, which was kept hidden from the public for the 2-month project duration. Designed by Rockwell Group and managed by Iron Bridge Consulting, the Brasserie features a grand dining room with an extensive tile, stone, and marble bar, customized and removable banquettes with integrated lighting, and a show-stopping L-shaped liquor wall display illuminated by gold and glass backlit shelves. Additional scope includes new floors, ceilings, MEPS/ FA, lighting, refurbished restrooms, coordination of AV, signage, and FFE.
